I wonder how many times during the debate where you can ask the campaign runners questions, how they plan to carry through on their campaign promises. sure, they have plenty of ideas on how to carry them out but how often do they just leave the problems of planning to a "think tank" (a place where more ideas are thought up but no real clear solution) and forget about it till elections come around again. How many, or few, actually come up with a plan other than "Hey I have an idea, so lets do this!" and make a semblance of wanting to pass the bill.
I'm obviously ranting in circles, but I'm still tired on how almost now thought is being put into passing important bills that could, or wouldn't, change the world for the better. everything is constantly tied up in bueracrats and inner politics that the only way you can get anything through is by dirty plays. such plays as attaching what you want to happen to the bill the opposing party wants as well. there's also discrediting the person who came up with the bill that will in turn make the bill itself discredited. and numerous other tactics that waste time and money. I'm really suprised of how many bueracrats there are in politics. just how many do we really need? do we really need a "chief assistant to the assistant chief"
What all politics need is a complete house clean to get rid of the unneeded positions. On the other hand, maybe I should enter politics, after all working in politics is a pretty secure job when your working in the middle. Because if your at the top, you have to watch yourself otherwise the other guys below you will throw you out and use you as a scape goat for the body. so long as your not at the top, your pretty much safe.
So to get back to the original point, if you want to be elected based on your campaign promises, back them up with an actual plan other then we'll get onto that after we get elected. You might stand a better chance showing your plan for the promises you make. Doing that will probably get you farther than throwing up attack ads against the other party on tv to make you look better by comparison.

the "Canadian shield" of fiction.
Throughout popular movies, tv shows, games, and books, there have been plenty of world affecting happenings within the story, but a startling few seem to affect Canada. I'm talking about things like apokolyps, political shifts, things like that where something happens in the story and they list all the countries affected by this world changeing event and they more often then not forget about Canada!
And yes I'm aware that Canada is lumped in with the USA when they list the countries but there's also quite a few instances where they list some random country to make it seem more rounded. And also because of how some "newscasters" within the story imply all countries in the world changing event, there are very few times when they directly say entire world.
Thusly, while Canada does escape about 95% of the world changing events in fiction, it still gets mentioned directly on ocassion like the recent Dues Ex game.
At any rate, if you are sucked into a fictional world where something "globally" bad is about to happen, then avoid or get out of these countries: USA, Great Britian, Japan, France, "Middle East", desert or tribal areas of Africa, the Caribean, and oceans and seas in general. The safest areas in the fictional world are: Spain, South America, China, Canada, Mexico, Central America, and India.
Just keep in mind that while the "safe" areas are generally safe from "world events", they are still subject to normal real world violence like gangs, murders, and petty thefts. You'll, for the most part, be safe from alien invasion, plagues, and political invasion from other countries.
At the end of the day, you'll want to leave the USA as soon as possible considering how often they get hit in the fictional universe. And always to the brink too.

Another thing about zombies...
Since the Resident Evil movies, and after seeing the zombified dogs and birds, there are two types of animals i wouldn't want zombified. Squirrels and chipmunks. those rodents are freaking fast and gittery already! Can you imagine if they started craving flesh? It'd be the end as we know it. So lets all prey that if a zombie apocalypse does come to earth, that it doesn't reach the rodent population.

Zombie de/evolution theory
I was just thinking about how the infection would be carried out should it occur, so here's whaat I think the life cycle of a zombie would occur.
Stage-1
Subject gets infected through either prior infected source of first infected. virus initailly runs as typical flu-like virus if infection is incured by a bite, the wound would be partailly anesthetize to insure best possibility of continuing infection. at the end of "stage one" the subject may still retain self (personality prior to infection) but may display cannibalistic tendencies or continue to display personallity prior to infection but no longer be susceptible to fatal injury (not including damage to brain area)
Stage-2
Loss of subjects personallity incurs resulting in near complete personality blanking. subject may still retain some habitual memory or learned behavior (opening doors, partial speech recocnition to close family). At stage-2, the subject is still relatively "fresh" and is able to run and display quick reflexes near comperable to unifected, and will continue to run towards "fresh food". Note, a permanent basic behavior pattern of prefering "fresh" meat will continue to persist.
Stage-3
Stage-3 incurs several hours after large-scale infection when "fresh" food is no longer plentiful. The subject will slow down (possibly stop movement all together) regor mortis will set in stiffining the subject. As the subject attemps to move during regor mortis, varrious tendons and muscle will brake, producing the slow shuffling walk most associated with zombie movement. Also during stage-3, primary senses such as eye sight, smell, and hearing (note, hearing is the last sense to leave). Any eye sight that persists is reduced to blobs of shapes and the subject is most likely to respond to rapid changes in colour.
Stage-4
Stage-4 is the final stage prior to complete death of the subject. (length of stage-4 is heavily determined on enviroment the subject is in.) The subjects movements will continue to deteriorate as flesh continues to rot off. Any possible behavior preference the subject may have had prior to stage-4 will be completely deteriorated and subject may begin to consume any nearby "food" wether it's non-infected or a fellow zombie. Subject may also begin to consume self. Note, this can also happen as early as stage-2 when subject consumes soft tissue around the mouth area. this includes lips, cheeks and even tongue.
Stage-5
Complete cell death in soft tissue (muscle movement). However the subject may continue to remain highly infective and should be quarantined as surrounding area is contaminated.

I'm back!!!
wow, it's been awhile and since nobody really noticed, I'm in the clear! so ha! at any rate for those who for some reason decided to check in and took note of the brain teaser I posted I'll post the answer.
the brain teaser goes as follows: How many sides does a circle (2-D) have and label each of those sides. the answer is:
there are four sides to a 2-dimentional circle. the inside, the outside, the top of the circle, and below it. the last two make sense to me because you can only observe a 2-D circle from either above or below it.
I first realized this in math class back in high school but the idea most likely occured to me after watching a star trek episode where the Enterprise-D got stuck in a 2-dimention being. it's kind of amazing how things come to you don't they?
at any rate, I'm back now and plan to make regular updates that probably won't make much sense but will be posted anyways. after all, i'm not writing a book, just a web blog.

babies and dogs
an old study states that dogs have the same learning capacity as small children (aka babies). after that, i began to realise the similarities in how we teach or train dogs and babies. one example is teaching them to talk. we tell both to "say" daddy or mommy, then congratulate with a treat, a pat on the head, or a happy affirmation. and that's just one example. next time, you have the opportunity, just look and you'll see what i mean.

fearing another repeat of the Avro Arrow fiasco.
the current canadian government (conservatives) is looking to buy about 65 brand new f-35's to replace the, while still capable, ageing cf-18's. the liberals swear that they'll scrap the whole deal should they come into power before the deal goes down. it strikes me as being crazily similar to the ill-fated Arrow program. the canadian aero-space industry is just getting back on its feet and while we aren't designing our own fighter jets, this could be the first great step in doing so again. if the liberals do follow through on there claim, it'll be another setback which may take decades to return to where it is now. if there is an election before this happens, then i'm voting conservative.

surprised
last night while plaing a game (i did better than usual) two players from the opposing team accused me, and a friend i was playing with, of cheating and said that they'd report me for doing so. i was quite surprised by this. they say that i was using "illegal" combinations to win. well to clear things up, i was playing call of duty: black ops. the weapon i was using at the time was an m14 rifle that's a semi-automatic. i have a quick trigger finger so i can get the fire rate up pretty high so it might seem like a full-auto weapon sometimes. the only attachment i used was a grip to control kickback. it just surprises me of how seriously some people take videogames sometimes. i'll complain about get killed repeatedly as much as the next guy, but unless i have actual proof beyond them killing me a bunch of times, then i just usually sit back and laugh about it. i've come across some lag-switchers (they confirm it themselves after each match) and are reported by everyone in the room. it's just weird to me.

post numero 1
as with all things to start, this will start with a brain teaser. but, before i get to that, i feel the need to give some backstory to it. i came up with this about ten years ago and so far no ones been able to guess the right answer on their own yet, so here it is: "How many sides does a circle have? and name each side." to save some trouble, the answer is not "infinite sides" as it would be impossible to identify each side. the best advice i can give is don't over think it. and also since i came up with this, you wont find the answer anywhere on the net. so good luck!
